mrs. sweeney's surprise "goodbye" party
So I said I'd post more later about why I was bringing pizza to Holden's classroom.
His teacher Mrs. Sweeney's last day is Friday, she is going to have a baby in a few weeks. Everyone is so excited for her, Holden came home last week and said us kids are planning a "goodbye" party for her. I said, oh that's really nice of you guys, do you need some help or need anything. He say's "nope, everyone is going to bring something we've got it all under control". I said are you sure...and he said, yep. we are fine. So i dropped it. Then Monday after school he came to me and asked if I could bring Pizza for the class on Tuesday morning....I said "why sure, but is there some adult that I can talk to about this, just to make sure it's okay...." so we went and talked to his substitute teacher and she said 10:15 would be a good time, b/c she will be getting the kids from the computer lab, and she will stall her a bit. So I got there with 6 pizzas at 10:15 walking thru the hall to her room, and there she stands outside of the computer room, I just ignored her and kept walking, hoping she didn't recognize me. There were a few students in the room already getting things set up. Some brought pop, chips, napkins and plates, bars and cards, signs and Kendra even made a slideshow/video! What a neat group of kids, wow. They planned this all by them selves, and she had NO clue. Kendra's mom is a sixth grade teacher, so I think she helped a little, but still! She was so surprised, what a sweet group of kids, I was there and caught her reaction when she came in the room, and all the kids yelled surprise! I caught a photo of her and each student, and then a group one of course! She is going to be missed, but we all can't wait to see the little baby, we hope everything goes well, and can't wait to take photos of the little sweetie when he/she arrives!
